 Value Stream Mapping is a method of visually mapping the flow of materials and information from door to door, through all manufacturing process steps.

A value stream map includes:

  • cycle times
  • uptimes
  • change-over times
  • in-process inventories
  • information flow paths
  • total lead time
  • number of people
  • material moves

Value Stream Mapping will show you how your organization is functioning now, give you a map of your "Current State" and from this you will develop a “Future State” that can be achieved usually within the following 3 – 6 months.
